Xmas Card 2008

The Annual Christmas Card: 2008

Just a few weeks ago I was so happy that I found the time to make a xmas card for this year! Well, it's Christmas eve, and my cards have NEVER ARRIVED. Luckily most of them were sent out directly from the printer, but for those who's addresses I didn't have just have to deal with impersonal e-mail.

I think the thing that chaps my ass the most is how much damn time it took to make -- and then it doesn't even look that good! Pen and ink. Rushed the drawing. Shows no depth. Little line variation. Then it's common knowledge I know jack about coloring, and that's the only tool I had to fix all the crap I rushed!

Ah well. I'm just glad it was completed. Too many cardless xmases have slipped through the cracks over the years. Let's see how long I can keep the streak alive!

Happy Hot-Rod'n Holidays!

2008 has been a fun year, with a lot going on. Most significant of which was participating in a big family vacation celebrating my Dad's 70th birthday in Mexico. He and my Mom are still more hip and more fun than I am, which will probably never change.

It's always been really important to me to be a part of an eclectic range of projects,  and 2008 allowed me to do just that: designed titles for a few films and TV shows, illustrated, animated and even did some costume design (which includes my own face on a heavy metal shirt being worn by a vampire on HBO).

Recently signed to co-write a comic book, got interviewed on CNN for marching for gay rights, picked up some books to learn computer programming, shaved FOR GOOD (which is why you can't recognize that it's me on the front of this card), and FINALLY got around to putting up my own website again, so I have a place to document and organize all of this crap. Hopefully that will be done by the end of the year, but if not -- DON'T RUSH ME!

Here's hoping you all have a great holiday season and even better 2009,
